Designing Ads

One of the fun things about photography is designing ads. I love to look through magazines and get ideas. Tonight I went to Borders and paged through Vogue Britain, Vogue American and Vogue Paris. Very interesting...

A Great Little Story

So, here's a wonderful story of one of my younger friends.

Last night my family dragged me away from my computer to a minor league baseball game. Now, I'm not big on baseball, probably from a combination of over playing it in gym class in high school and just the idea that it's all about waiting: waiting for a turn at bat, waiting for the ball to come to the outfield, waiting to run the bases until someone else hits the ball. I just find it rather boring. But, we got our seats for free and the kids always wanted to go to the stadium so this was the night.

So, I'm sitting in very nice seats waiting for the game to end and in the second inning comes this little sideline event where they select a cute little child to raise the bull around the bases. I see this tiny little girl down on the infield and say "What a little doll. She kind of reminds me of MK." Then I hear the speaker say, "Here's Daddy's little girl and her name is MK".

Sure enough there was my little friend and model MK running the bases - cute as can be! Her parents were not far off on the sidelines proudly cheering her on. A night none of them will ever forget!

Wow, am I glad that I went to THAT game! Sure wish I had my camera.

Love of the Father

A Testimony from a Client

I got this in my email today. It's people like this that make me LOVE my job!

If you are looking for a photographer in the Raleigh/ Durham area...I would highly recommend Anne Clay! Our family found Anne Clay through a charity auction where she made a generous donation. Our daughter was approaching three years old and we thought it would be a nice time to have a portrait made so we purchased her "Portrait Package." Little did we know what a treasure we would be gaining...in both the photos and finding Anne. I assumed we would do the "standard" photo session in the studio but Anne had bigger plans. She suggested The Duke Gardens and the fun began. Our home is now full of family treasures and we made a new friend. As we wait on the birth on our second child, we look forward to working with Anne again!

Backyard PIctures

Did you know that I will come to your house and follow your kids around while they play. It makes great pictures! Kids are the most free and uninhibited in their own environment - doing their own thing. I can make up a book full of your favorite images to remember that day forever. When the kids are growing up - we see them all the time and forget how quickly they change. But some day - that cute little person in front of you will be gone and in front of you will be a teenager that you do not know and then a young adult who goes off on their own adventures. It happens in the blink of an eye.

By the way - my website is back up. My webmaster is the BEST - he bails me out of so many problems. yeah.

More of another kind of senior

Another kind of Senior

This was probably the funniest photo shoot I've ever had. Adam - a recent college graduate is a nut case! He posed like a mannequin set to a metronome - all in good fun. I could hardly hold my camera steady - I was laughing so hard. We drew an active audience of hecklers from the balcony of a neighboring motel out having a great time at Myrtle Beach. My husband joined in the fun! More pictures in the next post.

New Baby

Here is adorable Phoenix, weighing in at less than 7 pounds and less than one week old. Isn't she beautiful!!??
