It's a beautiful Christmas Day in New England. The smell of turkey is in the air - snow is on the ground.
We arrived in New England early Sunday evening. The quaint charm of the New England houses with candles in the window and white all around was truly a beautiful sight.
From the time I was a young child, I would venture to this small New England town to celebrate Christmas with my Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. I love it here - the history, the small town feel. Last night was especially exciting seeing faces that I haven't seen for so many years as traveled from many places to come back to their roots. Peers of my youth are now parents of college students! I watch the cycle of life continue on. It's fascinating. We all found ourselves worshipping in the very same building where we worshipped in our youth - our parents now aging - our grandparents having gone on to their eternal reward.
I don't live here - although I did at one time. The security of having family close is a beautiful thing that I miss. But they are always in my heart and during the holidays many of us are fortunate enough to embrace these memories and make new ones with our loved ones.
I wish you all a beautiful day today - filled with cherished moments with your loved ones! Merry Christmas! Anne
