Here's a little doll baby at her three month visit - do you recognize her from before on the couch?? We are going to take her picture on the couch every three months and watch her grow.

One more from the wedding

I like this picture - The bride takes center stage while good friend and matchmaker look on in the distance. Great story here!

Jess' Bridal Portrait Session Last Month

Here are just a few of the great pictures that came from Jess' Bridal Session last month in the Butterfly room. These pictures are to appear in Southern Bride and Groom Magazine - I'll keep you posted.

Jessica and Chris

This past Saturday, I was blessed to photograph the wedding of two great people and their fun families. The wedding was down in Southern Pines - a town every bit as beautiful as it sounds. The wedding took place in a small church build in the 1700's without electricity and nestled among the trees in a picturesque old cemetary. Beautiful setting for a wedding. The reception was outdoors in the evening, under a tent decorated with twinkle lights. Every detail was painstakenly planned in a most artistic way. Here are a few pictures of this great day! Congratulations to Jessica and Chris!

First Place Winner!

Last night was the annual Photographers of the Triangle Society competition. 3 esteemed judges come from around the state - men who have won great accolades and have many years of experience come and judge some of our work. Competition is quite fierce - many great photographers come from around the Triangle and put their best in competition. The judges too are quite particular. To earn a Master's in Photography, one must get a certain amount of merits from competition. Merits are hard to come by. Many great photographs are entered and a small percentage of them get merited every year - there is a high standard to preserve the integrity of a professional photographer so that our clients, get true professionalism.

So, to make a long story short - I entered 3 of my images. I won first place for my image that I call "Jilted". It's the senior against the coke machine a few posts back. Check it out!

Anne Clay Portrait Sessions

I've revamped my portrait sessions to make it a bit easier for everyone who calles to know what they want in a portrait.

SERENITY: This is a timeless, artistic session, designed to capture you in your relationships to you loved ones. We turn down the lights, you dress in black and we start taking pictures against a black backdrop. I LOVE these sessions - they are so real and refreshing.

REFLECTIONS: These are the outdoor sessions - from nature to urban - these sessions please everyone. Great for families, autumn outdoor with leaves and pumpkins, spring with flowers, summer by the ocean....The list goes on. These are very popular.

THE CHOCOLATE BOX: Just as a box of fine chocolates has variety - so does this chocolate box. I've lumped some of my dance photography in there and portraits of people done in the studio that do not fit under the other headings.

BEBE PLAN: Just for pregnant moms and dad's and babies in their first year.

SENIORS: I love senior sessions! Great kids on the verge of adulthood - fun loving and going places.

THE WALL: Art for your child and teen's room. These are framed and BIG - they need to make a statement. They are also available in 2 1/2 in gallery wrapped canvas with lots of digital artistic touches. You will see lots more of this to come. This is my new line.

THE WEDDING: Engagement pictures, bridal portraits and wedding pictures. Love of love here!

THE BOUTIQUE: I offer beautiful frames, art books, image boxes, bags, jewelry and more. Even consider gift certificates this winter for those you love.

There's a little overview. Enjoy!

9/11

I woke up this morning to see my the US flag waving proudly outside of my large pallodian window and I was reminded of that fateful day just a few years ago.

As with all of you, I will not forget that day. It had been less than a year that we had moved from our home in NJ just 12 miles west of the City. The proud twin towers were so familiar to me and I knew many people that worked there.

But on that fateful day, I was homeschooling my young children. I was barely up and around and received a phone call from my friend who told me to turn on the TV. The images I saw then will never leave my mind. As I watched in horror and disbelief I couldn't help but think it was all surreal - like so many movies that I had seen. I spent the next three days keeping my mother company and watching the story unfold as we worked on getting my father back from Colorado to New England without the benefit of airplanes.

I spent the evening of 9/11 in the ER. While grocery shopping that day, I banged my head on my husband's hatchback, misjudging the distance of the back opening while loading my groceries. My minivan was in the shop. I had a huge gash in my head and was sent to ER for staples so that my hair would continue to grow in that spot (can you imagine).

The ER was filled with people experiencing great anxiety. Most people were in there for chest pains - the world was in a panic. What didn't help was the constant replaying of the very source of anxiety on the TV's all over the waiting room area and the sound of people jumping from the towers. As I sat there for 8 hours waiting to get my head stapled, watching the fear in the eyes of the people, I realized how connected we all are. How we build our kingdoms and feel so invincible, and yet how vulnerable we really are. A small handful of people can truly change the course of so many lives.

We've heard the sad stories. Husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles all gone. Some children lost both parents. Many heroes have come out of this story - people there to help others. Evidence of the grace of God in the midst of great suffering.

Our prayers are with all those today who were so greatly affected by the tragedy of 9/11.

Another beauty

Here's another example on a totally different level. Altho this is a senior - this is a great idea for children's pictures too! And how about birthday announcements or just greeting cards to send to your friends to update them on your gorgeous child!

The Wall - First place winner PST competition.

I'm really excited about my new collection "The Wall". I incorporate art with the pictures and make something uniquely beautiful. This has been framed in a 20x30 fun frame from Fudge Chunks.
